Digital Simulation for Buildings’ Outdoor Thermal Comfort in Urban Neighborhoods

نویسندگان

چکیده

Buildings’ outdoor thermal comfort influences environment quality and human behavior in urban neighborhoods. The Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) has been broadly applied to the study of buildings’ areas. However, complex environmental conditions climate-sensitive areas can make UTCI assessment complicated ineffective. This paper introduces digital techniques into analysis for improvement habitant environment. A simulation system is generated facilitate procedure addresses research question: “Can provide a modeling assess continuously effectively?” Methods include case neighborhoods Beijing, qualitative quantitative based on processes, parametric modeling. results indicate that tools have capability support by providing three-dimensional models, algorithm-based analysis, visual simulation. findings critique as architecture insights potentially improving through human–computer interactions.

Simulation of global warming effect on outdoor thermal comfort conditions

In the coming decades, global warming and increase in temperature, in different regions of the world, may change indoor and outdoor thermal comfort conditions and human health. The aim of this research was to study the effects of global warming on thermal comfort conditions in indoor ambiences in Iran. To study the increase in temperature, model for assessment of greenhouse-gas induced climate ...

A Framework for Outdoor Mean Radiant Temperature Simulation: Towards Spatially Resolved Thermal Comfort Mapping in Urban Spaces

Mean Radiant Temperature (MRT) is a critical physical quantity that indicates how human beings experience radiation in their surrounding environment. If taken outdoors, MRT depends on the temperature of the sky, ground, vegetation and surrounding buildings, and is therefore difficult to predict reliably. An additional challenge for designers is that publically available simulation tools do not ...

Adaptive thermal comfort and sustainable thermal standards for buildings

The origin and development of the adaptive approach to thermal comfort is explained. A number of the developments in the application of the theory are considered and the origin of the differences between adaptive thermal comfort and the ‘rational’ indices is explored. The application of the adaptive approach to thermal comfort standards is considered and recommendations made as to the best comf...

Outdoor thermal comfort and urban design in warm-humid Guayaquil, Ecuador

Deteriorated urban microclimate and poor outdoor thermal comfort is an increasing problem in cities in the tropics due to the combined effect of urban and global warming. Microclimate measurements (wind speed, air temperature and humidity, and globe temperature) were carried out in different parts of the warm-humid city Guayaquil, Ecuador. Simultaneously about 400 persons were asked for their s...
